JAMESTOWN TARP SKUNKS ANNOUNCE HIRING OF FRANK JAGODA III AS MANAGER FOR THE 2025 SEASON

Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Tarp Skunks, a proud member of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), are excited to announce the hiring of Frank Jagoda III as the new Manager for the 2025 season.

Jagoda brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in amateur, collegiate, and professional baseball, making him an ideal candidate to lead the team. The last five years, Jagoda has spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays working in Pro Scouting and Player Development helping the Rays reach the playoffs in 2020-2023 with a World Series appearance in 2020. Jagoda also worked with USA Baseball from 2014-2020 as Director of the National Team and as a scout, coach, and advisor that included Gold Medals in Colombia and Panama as well as a Silver Medal in South Korea, Bronze medal in Japan, and an international trip to Taiwan.

“Growing up in the area being a Chautauqua County native having played many games here at Diethrick Park, including the 2003 Babe Ruth World Series, there is something special about baseball in this area. Having seen many future big leaguers come through here playing for the Jammers, playing at JCC, and starting my coaching career at JCC, now being able to come back as the manager of the Tarp Skunks is a full circle moment” Jagoda said. “The area, the campus, and baseball in Chautauqua County means a lot to me. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead this group of young men this summer.”

The Dunkirk, NY native first began his coaching career at Jamestown Community College in 2009 as a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. He then coached at Canisius University as Pitching Coach from 2011-2014, helping them win the MAAC tournament championship in 2013 and win the 2014 MAAC regular season championship. Jagoda also worked at Wingate University as a pitching coach and Patrick Henry Community College as Head Coach leading Patrick Henry to a 79-38 record over three seasons including a 2016 Region X Regular Season Championship and a 2016 Region X Coach of the Year Award. In addition to his time working in professional baseball with the Rays, Jagoda worked with the Minnesota Twins in Player Development from 2018-2019.

When asked about his goals for the upcoming season, Coach Jagoda emphasized his dedication to not only bring a championship to Jamestown, but developing a professional culture: “Our goals are always to compete for a PGCBL championship, but it starts with working hard everyday, not only on field but in the clubhouse. That starts with the coaching staff and players, but also extends out into our front office and our entire organization to develop a strong culture. We hope to not only have a group that competes everyday, but are ambassadors for the community and the Tarp Skunks organization, helping to grow baseball in Chautauqua County.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Frank join us as the manager. His leadership and dedication to winning will be instrumental in taking our team to the next level.” said Christian Dolce, General Manager of the Jamestown Tarp Skunks. “His passion for the game and commitment to developing players aligns perfectly with our goal of building a winning culture on and off the field.”.

The Jamestown Tarp Skunks invite fans, supporters, and the community to join them in welcoming Frank Jagoda III to the Tarp Skunks family. For more information about the Jamestown Tarp Skunks and their upcoming 2024 season, please visit www.tarpskunks.com or follow on social media @tarpskunks
