Following New York State Department of Health regulations, the Jamestown Tarp Skunks will establish vaccinated-only sections in Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park for the 2021 season.

Doing so will allow fully vaccinated fans to enjoy games in 100% capacity sections. About half of the stadium will be reserved for vaccinated fans, while the other half will be used as seating for unvaccinated individuals, where social distancing will apply to limit the capacity of those sections. Children, regardless of vaccination status, will be permitted to sit with their accompanying adult(s).

Individuals seated in a vaccinated section will need to provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization, which can be provided through paper form, digital application or New York State’s Excelsior Pass.

Masks and social distancing will be required for non-vaccinated fans in common areas and while seated, unless actively eating or drinking. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated individuals while in common areas and seated.

The new regulations will allow more fans to enjoy summer baseball in Jamestown again.

“We are really thrilled to be able to offer entry to even more fans this summer,” said Tarp Skunks Director of Business Operations, Jacob Kindberg. “We are working hard to follow state regulations to ensure that we are being compliant while also welcoming as many fans as we safely can. We hope that the new guidelines will also help fans to feel even more comfortable while in Diethrick Park,” said Kindberg.

The Tarp Skunks home opener is Thursday, June 10th at 7:00 pm, with a free pregame tailgate festival to begin at 5:00 pm. The festival, sponsored by Pepsi, will include food and live music performed by local band “For The People.” The Tarp Skunks season will run from June until August.
